Day 6 was the day of the medieval cities - San Gimignano and Siena.
In the morning we headed for San Gimignano, a cute town with 12 towers based on a hill in the middle of Tuscany. Is reminded me of Óbidos, in Portugal (you have seen it here) but even more characteristic.
I had to share this sequence, it was so much fun :)
Then we headed for a nap by the pool in our hotel and when the heat was lower we drove to Siena. I loved the energy of the city and that all converged to the main square where the Palio takes place (a horse race where riders ride bareback (!) and represent the different city wards).
Another thing I loved about Siena was that, if you see someone dressed in medieval clothes riding a horse in the middle of the city you will find it normal as it is absolutely well preserved and nothing is modern. Gorgeous!
