Holidays - day 10&11 - Rome

Rome, Rome... Such a lively city, full of things to see and places to wander... It was my second time there but I loved it again.

Holidays - day 9 - Saturnia

Day 9 was full of car traveling but the stop we made at Saturnia was well worth the time "lost".
Mind you that this is absolutely natural and has no schedules or fees to enter. Every hour of every day of the year, it is open.

P.S. You can check more about it here and here. You can also take a look at Pamukkale, a gigantic sister of Saturnia in Turkey.

Holidays - day 7 - Elba

So... L'isola d'Elba (Elba island)... I am fortunate enough to have been to some of the most beautiful beaches on earth and Elba, right here, in our little Europe, was able to gain its way up my top 5.

Take a look! Day 1 at Elba:)

 The water is sooo clear...
The last one is the sun setting in Corsica and the one before the town of Portoferraio.

Holidays - day 6 - San Gimignano and Siena

Day 6 was the day of the medieval cities - San Gimignano and Siena.
In the morning we headed for San Gimignano, a cute town with 12 towers based on a hill in the middle of Tuscany. Is reminded me of Óbidos, in Portugal (you have seen it here) but even more characteristic.

I had to share this sequence, it was so much fun :)

Then we headed for a nap by the pool in our hotel and when the heat was lower we drove to Siena. I loved the energy of the city and that all converged to the main square where the Palio takes place (a horse race where riders ride bareback (!) and represent the different city wards).
Another thing I loved about Siena was that, if you see someone dressed in medieval clothes riding a horse in the middle of the city you will find it normal as it is absolutely well preserved and nothing is modern. Gorgeous!
